The first thing you should do is go the the settings and enable peek and fire it will come under the category of basics 
Then when you start a game just above the firing button there will be two icons which will be leaning either sides
Then when you want to fire at someone while taking cover this will help you as only the your face and a little bit of waist will be shown which will decrease the surface for shooting and make it harder to aim for them and the damage dealt will be less.
